This company was created in April 2017 through a merger of Mitsubishi's former Chemical, Plastics, and Mitsubishi Rayon brands. Mitsubishi Chemical manufactures and supplies chemicals, membranes, and ion exchange resins for water and wastewater treatment applications, as well as other processes used within semiconductor manufacturing, such as lithography and wet etching. Products and services for the microelectronics market are offered by the Mitsubishi Chemical Solutions for Semiconductor (MCSS) division, and there is also a Performance Separation Materials Unit. With interests across all regions, the company is a prominent player in the membrane bioreactor market. Mitsubishi is currently building a new factory in Taiwan to boost the supply of materials needed for semiconductor manufacturing there.
